Happy New Year! 2006 Goals

I hope everyone had a safe and happy new years eve last night. I didn't to much. Paul had to work last night from 5 - ll pm so we had our traditional new years eve movie watching night on Friday instead. We watched Legally Blond and The Bad News Bears (the new version). Then last night I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp by myself while Paul was out.

I went though my stash this morning I was looking for a piece of fabric to do a Fairy that was in the new issue of Cross Stitch Gold. I found a light piece of Rock-a-Bye in my stash that I think I'm going to use for this piece. Today is the day the Mirabilla SAL starts and I wanted to start either Mermaids of the Deep Blue or Rose of Sharon today but, the fabric didn't arrive yesterday...BUT.... I did find a piece of Sapphire Sky Lugana that I think will go perfectly for Mermaid of the Deep Blue so I'm going to use that instead and just put the other piece in my stash when it arrives. Unless someone is interested in it. Let me know if you are and we can work out a trade.

I also this morning went though all my WIP's and pieces that I have that I'd like to start this year. Here is my list of what I'd like to do this year. I know it's really over the top but, hey what fun is it if you can't dare to dream! :)

To Start
Celtic Heart
Fairy
Sitting Pretty
Mermaids of the Deep Blue
Celtic Autumn with Color Conversions
Rose of Sharon
Lady with the Blue Robe
A Celtic Challenge
Enchanted Mermaid
the 2005 L*K Stamps and the Freebie that you got if you bought all of them.
I also have a ton of Margaret Sherry patterns and I'd like to get 5 of them done this year.
Oh yes and most important is Teddy in a Wagon. I did this a few years ago for a RR and the person in the RR dropped out of NEXStitchers and they won't answer my e-mails or letters about sending me back my RR so I'm affraid that is is gone forever. :( I feel so bad about this as the other 2 ladies who stitched on it worked so hard on their pieces.

To work on/finish
Girl with a Pearl Earring
Celtic Summer
Mermaid Heaven
Earth Angel
Here is Me....
My Security Blanket
"love" bookmark
Itty bitty irish
Celtic Emerald Cross
Everyone's Nook
St. Paddy's Day Kitty Moon
Map of Australia (for Paul)
Bun Warmer
William in the Window
Frederick the Literate (SAL with Mary)
Firefly Fairies
Christmas Elf Fairy
Kittens and Mittens
Up, Up & Away
100,000 Welcomes
Emerald Mermaid

I'll post later today what I got a chance to work on today.

With me being so into music I think this is perfect for me. *grin* I got it from Zohrah's Blog.

Ok does anyone know how small 32 count fabirc is!?! (don't answer that I know you all do) I went to starts Mermaids of the Deep Blue today and I just couldn't see the holes in the fabirc so I didn't get very far. I used my stitching light but, that didn't help much. I think I got a magnifiying glass a few years ago from some cross stitching magazine. I'll have to see if I can find it and see if that helps.

Since I didn't work on Mermaids.... I picked up the other new piece I wanted to start. I just call it Fairy cause I don't know its proper name. I'll have to look in the magazine and see if it has one. I'm stitching this on 28 count Lugana Rock-a-Bye.

If I decide to stitch more tonight I think I'll work on the Christmas Elf Fairy and I'll post an updated scan of her in the morning. Unless I get back on later tonight.

Dougie! Dougie! Dougie!!!! Way to go to Doug Flutie today. He was put into the Patriots game and he kicked a field goal (for those who don't know he is the back-up quaterback). From the BC game to this. Doug if this is your last game it was a hell of a way to go out. I'll miss you so much!!!

Hi Jenn!

I wanted to thank you for your kind comment on my blog. First, it's always great to see that other people appreciate what you do, and second but not least, it has led me to your blog and I'm delighted! I have browsed through your 2004 and 2005 finishes, and noticed that we have common tastes in X-stitch: US designers... yummy!

And seeing all the projects you have in mind for this year makes me dream! I sure will visit your blog again to see how it all turns! Your Christmas elf looks great too!

Btw, this is my first comment of the year, and I want to wish you a very happy 2006!

Take care!

Hi Jenn - I have that fairy from Cross Stitch Gold on my list to do someday too - Rock A Bye sounds perfect for it!!! Ouch, sorry 32 ct hurts your eyes!! It's my favorite count for big projects, and love 36 and 40 ct fabrics for samplers... I do get new contact lenses each year (slightly stronger each year, probably due to stitching!)

Hi Jenn!
Happy New Year! Boy do you have alot of goals. I just plan on working on And Two Shall be as One and Frederick the Literate plus any ornaments that are in my ornament finishing class. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't gotten my Winnie the Pooh and Friends back from that RR either so I guess we are in the same boat. I did hope you would have at least gotten your one back. Live and Learn I guess. Maybe someday we will do our own RR. I will stitch the bear I stitched for you and you can stitch the Winnie the Pooh or Friend for me. A two person RR. That way we both will have our pieces back. :-) Just an idea to put on top of the million other projects we have to do.
I don't think I've stitched on 32 count as far as I know. I hope you can find a magifying glass. I'd probably need to use one too. Well I need to start working on my ambitious goals for the year.
Aloha!
Mary

Sorry to hear about your RR disaster - that must have been so disappointing for you! The Teddy in a Wagon looked so cute too! If you want, I'm happy to stitch on it too - I presume you have the chart that you stitch with? Anyway, let me know if you want to look at that option ... I've never been in a RR mainly because of the horror stories I've heard over the years, but I'd like to help you out :) My email is shakatak @ iinet . net . au :)

Your 2006 goals look incredible too - some wonderful projects in there! Look forward to seeing progress piccies :)) Sorry to hear about the 32ct Lugana too ... I can empathise with you about seeing the hole on the hand-dyed luganas - I had the same problem stitching Egyptian Garden on some Midas Touch ... ended up giving up and getting some 32ct linen instead!
