A tip about stitching on black fabric

This is going to sound silly but, I picked up Girl with a pearl earring the other day and worked on it for a while. I'm doing the piece of 28 count black Lugana. I know, I know I'm crazy. :) I did find something that made it a little easier. I got a stitching light a few weeks ago and I was using it and while I was in the living room stitching. Paul had to turn off the light for a minute in there and it was actually easier for me to stitch in the dark with only the stithing light. I could see the holes so much better this way

Here is a picture of the "Here is Me" bear that I'm doing. I'll try and have a scan of what I've done so far up tonight. I've gotten the bear all done except for the inside color of his ears and the back stitching so after that i'll just have to do the words. I don't mind backstitching at all so the words should go pretty quickly. I wonder if I can have this UFO done by the end of the week.

Glad to hear that you picked up Girl with a Pearl earring again. I've been thinking of picking up a stitching light so that I can do more on grape gather, thanks for the tip in advance. Can't wait to see what you've done on the Here is Me bear.
