Thanks for everyones kind words. I guess it's kind of the RR that has me down but, mostly what is getting to me is wondering why I bother stitching when there is no one to pass it all down to. When I'm gone it's all just going to get thrown in the trash so why bother?
Sorry it's just me going through my i'm going to die alone stage. LOL yeah like it's a stage I feel this way all the time. So till I can figure out what is going to happen with all my stuff I just can't see doing it anymore.

You have me so concerned. I see you as quite depressed. Why would you think you would die alone? I am here for you - anytime - you know I am a licensed therapist, so maybe we can chat via email about some of this sometime?? I hate to see you so down!! I am guessing that you are not doing Mermaid Heaven or Earth Angel with me anymore?? :-(
I have no one to pass any of my items to either Jenn. But as of right now I know quite a few people who'd gladly take any finished projects in a heartbeat. Let alone a few other things as well. I try not to think about it, but it sometimes creeps in there somewhere. Just don't let it run your life.

I guess you're making a good point about what will our stitchings become when we die... I suppose I never thought about it as we tend to keep that kind of stuff for generations. This will die with me if my brother doesn't make children ;)
So far, I focused on the pleasure of stitching. Why stitch instead of paint or other crafts? Because I enjoy it. The threads, the fabric, etc...
Then comes the pleasure of achievement when the project is finished. Of course, when it's your 50th or so project,it's not as big as the first, but still...
And then the project makes a good gift for someone, or a great picture on your wall !
If you don't really enjoy stitching for the moment, maybe your should try another craft or sudoku for a while? We all non-stitching periods when we think it's the end of it !
Jenn, That's so sad but I understand how you feel. I have no one to pass my stitching onto either but I can enjoy it while I'm here. Hope you feel better soon sweetie.
Just popping on to see if you are feeling any better today. I don't have anyone to pass my stitching on to either - well, except for my nieces.... Mike and I don't and won't have children at this point (I am 42, he is 45 - that clock is done ticking, for the most part....) - but I can't imagine my life without my stitching. However, if it is not appealing to you any longer, than that is understandable.

A few years ago an two aunts of my husbant passed away, one was 87 and her sister 92, I have several beautyfull stitchings on my wall that remind me how long someone can enjoy stitching. One aunt was never married and had no children, the other aunt had one daughter, (no grandchildren) but the daughter didn't like stitching but she didn't throw them away but gave them to me.
There is always someone who will love your work (read the comments), so put it on paper that your work will go to those people if the time is there, they will remember you every time they look at your work.( you could put your name on it somewhere and it will be an heirloom) Keep on stitching!
