I'm giving up stitching

I've had enough of this. I'm tird of working on thing that will one day just be thrown in the garbage. It's just a waste of time and money. I do things to be nice for people and I get dumped on in return.

My Yahoo group started a RR a few years ago it was a stitch it when you can kind of thing. It was 4 ladies. 2 of the ladies have their RR back and one will shortly. Guess who that leaves out in the cold??? ME! I don't get mine back cuase the lady who has it left my group and won't answer my e-mails or letters I've sent to her. So here I am getting s**t on again.

Forget it it's just not worth it.

Hi Jenn, so sorry you feel that way today :-( I had that happen to me a few years ago. I was really excited about this Shepherd's Bush band sampler RR that not only was I in, but I set up.... I put together this great theme where each stitcher stitched a different month or season. Several copied my idea. I diligently stitched on 12 samplers - mine never came home. No response from the last lady who surely had it. It has been a good eight or nine years now.... just thinking about it now still bothers me. But instead of giving up stitching, I gave up RRs.... I really hope you don't quit stitching - I sure would miss you!!

Hi Jenn,

I'm so sorry to hear the way you are feeling right now. I can understand why you are so annoyed. I've been quite lucky in that the RRs I've been in have finished ok. I belong to a general crafts group which has a lot of members and a lot of swaps and RRs going on. They have swap angels for the people who don't get because of bad swappers. I hope you get back to your stitching.

This is exactly why I don't like RRs... You rely on someone else to be as nice and decent as you. An unknown person from far in the world.
But look at your Teddy ! Look at your mermaid !
Think of all the beautiful projects you can hang on YOUR walls. Isn't it worth it? Do you want me to finish the teddy before you?

We all have discouragement times... What about stitching one of those cute Archies or cattitudes to make you smile? They are fun fast and cute to stitch !

Don't let bad people ruin your hobby !!!

Don't let anyone ruin what you love. It's one thing to "grow out of" stitching than it is to let someone(s) spoil it for you. Yes it's horrible that some people can't be bothered to keep up their end of the bargin (or at least have the decency to send it back unfinished with a note of apology). You've stitched quite a few beautiful pieces in the year or more that I've known you and have a few more in the rotation that are going to be just as beautiful. As Carol stated, give up round robins if you have to, but keep stitching as long as it makes YOU happy to do so.

Big Hugs!
