I must be cursed

Ok I'm in moving hell right now. We spent all day on Tuesday moving boxes and stuff from the house. The movers came and took all the furniture. About 45 minutes after the movers left we got a call from the lawyer doing our closing telling us that the closing has been put off till either Monday or Tuesday of next week because the girl who's buying our condo her bank didn't do all the proper paperwork in time so they aren't ready for the closing.

So we aren't in our house and we ended up having Thanksgiving here at my parents house.

I've spent the last 2 days crying and upset and trying to figure out why things like this always happen to me. I just don't understand it. So here we are living at my parents house till who knows when with none of our stuff. I didn't pack much of anything for us cause we thought we'd only be spending one night here. So everything we have is in the boxes in the moving truck. I guess it's a good thing that I had already put my stitching bag in the back seat of my car. Unfortunately I've not felt like stitching (or doing much of anything else) the past 2 days. Everyone has to work or go out tomorrow and I've got nothing to do so maybe I'll try and stitch.

I'll try and post again either tomorrow or over the weekend. Thanks to everyone for their messages to my last post. They really made me smile and get though the past few days.

Hi Jenn - well, that is really cruddy and really unfair! Your buyer has been a bit of a pain, hasn't she? However, stuff like this happens to everybody, not just you! We all have our horror stories to tell. They make us stronger, despite how agonizing they can be. Meanwhile, I am sure you and Paul are on top of all of this and will make sure to get into that house at the quickest possible moment - and thank God you have your parents right now! Keep us posted :-)

And to think, someday you will laugh about all of this ... probably every Thanksgiving from now on. :o)

I wish you well!

Jenn, I'm so sorry the closing didn't go as planned. It must be so upsetting. Please take heart, though, this stuff happens all the time with closings and real estate deals. You're certainly not alone in your experience. Eventually you'll be snug and settled in your new home, and will start to build wonderful memories there! {{ Hugs}}

How utterly crappy for you! But everything happens for a reason - sometimes you don't know the reason right away but it always becomes clear eventually. Enjoy your Mum's cooking for a couple of days and everything will sort itself our really soon. Take care x

You must be one of my clones Jenn :o( I'm so sorry this has not gone smoothly. We expect it should but I guess the real world always has another agenda. Take heart and here's a big HUG! :o)

Sorry to hear the move hasn't gone as smoothly as you wanted it to. I remember John and Katie had some nightmares with buying their house and selling Katie's condo at the same time. But they sold the condo and they have their house for over a year now. It will work out. It's great your parents are there to help you. I will pray that things will get in order quickly!!!!!
Chin up and many hugs!
Mary

Oh dear! Here I was thinking you where unpacking already.
Better use this time to take a good rest(I know it's hard), and hopefully you can start unpacking in your new home next week.

... and in thanksgivings to come you will tell the story of the bad thanksgiving you are going through now, and telling how you survived by baking a huge pie for the rest of the family, and about how this was how the real familyfeeling and thankfulness was given a through face, or something along that line...
Try to stay possitive, I cross my stitches for you!
pssst I'm a bit shy in the mailing department as you might have guessed...
:o)
Oh and I hope my English isn't to clumpsy?
I do mean what everyone else said...
And if you need to cry, well what's wrong with that, nothing I would say.
Take care dear, I hope you can laugh again in a few days.
If live gives you scraps, make a quilt out of them! (or bake a pie)
Or stitch for your parents an ornament for Christmas...
:o)
