As the boys play rock and roll....

Now I know why U2 named their new CD How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Cause I feel like I have dismantled one after the past 2 days. I think I gave everything I had on Thursday night...so if I feel this whipped I wonder how the band feels! LOL. I don't think I would be far off if I said that Thursday night's show was the best show I have ever seen them do. I guess I can say that since I've seen them in concert going back to 1985.

They came out and started the show with 3 of the hardest rocking songs they have City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo and Elevation. Then they pulled Gloria out of their hats.

Well I have to say that I got my wish. When Bono sang 'oh you look so beautiful tonight' during City of Blinding Lights I let everything I've been feeling go. No more pain, no more worrying. I'm just going to take things as they come and not worry about stuff anymore. It didn't hurt either that this was the first song they did of the night. :)

I've known for a while that the band filmed their Chicago shows. They better get this DVD out quickly! As I NEED to see this show again. Even if it's not the one that I was at I don't think it will matter.

The set list was as follows:
City of Blinding Lights
Vertigo
Elevation
Gloria
The Ocean
Beautiful Day
Miracle Drug
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
Love and Peace or Else
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bullet The Blue Sky
Running To Stand Still
Pride In The Name of Love
Where The Streets have No Name
One

The Fly
Until The End of the World
With Or Without You
Out of Control

All Because of You
Original of the Species
Bad

They did the chorus to 40 during Bad and the crowd kept singing as they left the stage but, since they didn't do the whole song they didn't put it in the set list.

The one thing that keeps popping into my head is a shot of Larry that was on the video screen durring Elevation. He had this big smile on his face as he was singing the chorus of the song. He looked like he was having as much fun as we were. :)

I forgot to mention this and as silly as it is I can't believe that I forgot it till now. :} There was a guy at the show who had General Admission tickets who was wearing a cow suite! I could see him from my seat going onto the floor and then as I watched him I discovered that he had tickets into the center of the ellipse. I'd heard on the news that they scanned everyone's tickets when you enter the arena (they were doing this at all shows) and 400 people would be picked this way to fill up the ellipse. So if this is all true and I think it's true cause I had my tickets scanned but, I wasn't picked for the ellipse and I didn't see anyone else get picked but, I was so close to the front I didn't wait to see anyone else get picked. That means that this guy in the cow suite got picked! I know it's totally random but I just found it so funny. He was turning into everyone's best friend down on the floor. How could he not be could you not smile/laugh if you saw a guy in a cow suite???
