I've been working on both My Security Blanket and Little Snap Dragon lately. As well as starting a new piece for a friends daughters birthday in March. Below is my progress on MSB and LSD.

I decided to start with Little Snap Dragon from my UFO list to get done this year. I'll work on this for a few weeks...or till something else calls to me.

This is what I got done over the weekend. (you can see the orignal WIP picture below)

1 of the colors for the wings wasn't in the bag I had all the floss for this project in. So I went out today and got it. Can't wait to get working on it agian. Everytime I went to work on a different color I seemed to want to work on the color I didn't have.

My problem is that I can't decided which fabric to stitch her on so I did a floss dump the other day but I still can't decide so I thought I'd ask all of you which one you like better.

I stitched up a freebie kit I got from an old issue of the UK Cross Stitcher and put it into a card rather then the cardboard mount it came with and sent sent it off to a friend for her birthday. She's not gotten it yet but she doesn't know about my blog so she won't see this.

I enjoyed stitching it. I wasn't completely crazy about the 1/2 stitches in 1 strand. If I had to do it again I'd probably do it in 2.

Just short post today but i"ll try to be back with more soon. Happy Stitching!

Pillow

My friend Monica went to Comic Con in San Diego this year and she sent me a huge box filled with goodies she picked up while there. As a thank you I decided to stitch her something. We are both Fans of J.R. Wards Series The Black Dagger Brotherhood. so I decided to stitch her the initial of her favorite character in the book. His name is Rehvenge and he has Amethyst eyes so I decided to use 2 different shades of purple for the stitching.

Here is what the finished stitching looks like

and finished into a pillow.

This is the fabric I used on the back of the pillow.

A pattern in my stash called Seaside Sweethearts has been called Seaside Sweethearts. I pulled the floss for it today and I'm thinking I'll try and start it tonight while I check out the Pats preseason game.

I stitched a bit...ok well more then a bit....today on My Security Blanket I started this years ago. Probably 2004 or 05 when it came out and it's been sitting in my UFO pile ever since then. I've always thought it was such a cute piece.

I got almost all of the blue done today and most of the red. I think I'll start on the cats face next time but we'll see what calls to me when I sit back down with it.

Still reading Jessica Andersen. I'm now on book three (Skykeepers), and I think it's the best book in the series so far. I listened to the audio book of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner last week when i was stitching. I enjoyed do it so I'm going to see if I can find another book to listen to while I stitch.

I sat down today and finished off the pillow I made the other day. The pattern is a freebie I've had sitting around here for years by Passione Ricamo.

Well I took out Sunflower Inn the other day thinking I'd start working on it, but it's still sitting here next to the computer untouched. I want to work on it but I just can't seem to find the time....and when I do want to sit and stitch my mind is going to other things in my stash it wants to work on (which also are untouched).

I've gotten into reading The Final Prophecy series by Jessica Andersen and that has dug into some of my stitching time. I've just gotten so into book 2 (4 books in the series so far) that I just want to sit and read and find out what happens. Maybe once I finish the book I'll pick up something to stitch.

I finished stitching something that will end up being a gift yesterday morning so I'm not sure what to work on next. I keep going back to Sunflower Inn by Little House Needlework. I've not picked it up since I did all that work on it at Celebration back in May. Maybe that's what I'll work on today but who knows I could sit down to work on it and something else could call to me.

Here is what I've gotten down on Sunflower Inn So far.

I have been listening to The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner while I've been stitching. At first I couldn't see the point of the book but now it's (kind of) starting to come together. I have enjoyed it thought. It's nice to not have to read a SM book where Bella is whining all the time. When I'm not stitching I've been reading Dreamkeepers by Jessica Andersen. It's book 2 in her Final Prophecy Series.

I'm off to do a bit of cleaning but before I go I'll leave you with one of my recent finishes.

What to do.....

What do I want to do with my life. Isn't that a question that should have been answered years ago? Probably but, now I get to figure it out again. There just aren't that many jobs out there for Secretary/administrative assistants/everything else I did at my old job....but, I don't really want to do that again. I guess that's cause I was treated so badly for YEARS at my old job and I'm just afraid of getting into something like that again. Plus I feel like I'm such a creative and imaginative person but, how do you put that into a job. I love to do photography but, how do I make that into a job? I'd love to do something like sell my pictures on line or something like that but, that wouldn't bring in the money I would need to survive. So I'm stuck...and unhappy and most days...all day I just feel like crying.

Then I start to think of things I want to do in a few weeks...in a few months and I get worried that if I have a job and I ask for time off with no real vacation time that they would fire me..... *sigh*

Oh Well....

I did do some stitching on Mirabilia's Halloween Fairy the other day but, I ended up having to frog out most of what I did cuase the last time I worked on the piece a year or so ago I had put the wrong floss on the needled so when I picked it up I had no idea and just started stitching away. Hopefully I'll have somthing more to show next time.

A new look

I decided my blog needed a change I spent most of last night looking on line for a stock photo to use (the picture that was here before was a stock picture) but, I couldn't find one that I liked so I made my own up today. I had a lot of fun getting everything together.

I've felt for a while like I should start blogging again but, I wanted to make a change to how I blog and I wanted to think about it before I put...well not pen to paper but, fingers to key board. If I stitch I stitch and I'll talk about it but, I'm going to try and spend more time talking about the ohter things I do also.

Maybe just writing on here will help me work things out in my head and figure out what I want to do next/now.

Tomorrow is Carols birthday and she got my gift to her in the mail today. After a little persuading I got her to open it today.

I stitched up a freebie by Passione Ricamo and made it into a pillow for her. I just realized that I didn't take a picture of the back of the pillow so you could all see the fabric. Maybe Carol will have done that on her blog. If not I'll post a picture of it tomorrow as I still have some of the fabric left. I also sent Carol so fabric for finishing and a cute little birthday duckie.

We have been trying to teach the kittens not to climb on the counters and so far we have been having pretty good luck when we are home.....BUT....when we aren't.......

I came home to this the other day. Felix has a bit of a sweet tooth and loves sugar. Took me most of the night to get everything cleaned up. It was a brand new bag of sugar we'd just put in the sugar bowl. We've now learned to keep the sugar bowl in one of the cabinets ALL the time. :)

If your wondering where Stitch was in all of this...she was sitting on the floor like a good girl looking up at Felix and then looking at me as if to say "I'm the good one mommy!"

The last of the lilies in our yard are in bloom and I wanted to share a picture of them with you. They are in our front yard but, I think I'm going to try and transplant them into the back for next year. They just isn't enough light for them so they had to grow till they were falling over to get to the sunlight.

I do have an update on my L*K piece to share with all of you but, I can't get my scanner to work tonight. So it will have to wait till tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Thanks for stopping by!

A new start

I've had Good things come to those who stitch by Lizzie Kate in my stitching bag to start since I got back from Celebration in May. I decided to start it the other day. Actually Sunday boy has this week flown.
I did get in some stash the other day that I treated myself too. It was more Lizzie Kate stuff. I got the fabric to do the Christmas flip it's on, the first chart and the piece that one their Crazy Caption Contest (the saying is 'Normal is just a setting on the washer'). I should have a pic of it soon since I got the software for my camera loaded into the computer the other day there is no reason not to post pics.

It was DH's birthday yesterday so I took today off to get an early start to the long weekend. (DH had already had yesterday off and today as well). We started by going to the movies. There are so many movies out there that we want to see that we literally at the desk to buy our tickets and were still trying to decide. We were down to Hancock and Wall*E. I told DH that it's kind of tradition to see a Will Smith movie when it comes out over the weekend of the 4th. So that is what we ended up seeing. We are going to try and see Wall*E over the weekend. We had fun at the movie then after we went out to the Mohegan Sun Casino. The day after birthday boy ended up winning and me...I kind of broke even.

When we got home there was a package from Sue(Redwitch) waiting for me.

A few weeks ago Sue went to Dublin for a conference and unbenouced to me she picked me up a few things. First there is the card with a picture of one of the pages of the Book of Kells, a bookmark with some of the sites around Trinity College on it, a piece of milk chocolate from the Trinity College Library (I"m amazed that this made it to have it's picture taken. I don't see it making it very far though the night) and last but not least the cutest little doll (I've named her Bridgette).

Thank you SO MUCH Sue! It was so sweet of you to think of me like this. I would love to be able to put Bridgette out on my stitching dresser for everyone to see but, the kittens would get up there and decide she is a toy and I don't want that to happen so she'll have to go away someplace safe till they get bigger but, don't worry I'll have her out all the time to look at.

Two weeks ago this coming Sunday I bought a new computer. I can't begin to tell you how much better getting on line now is. So since then I've slowly been getting the new computer put together. I bought it from Dell and they shipped it to me....boy are they quick! I ordered on Sunday and had all the pieces for it by Wednesday. The last piece of the puzzle I needed was the cord to hook up the printer/scanner. So I hope to figure out how to use it over the weekend so I can share updates on my pieces with you.

To any of the readers out there have any of you read the Stephanie Myers Twilight books? They are young adult books but, they are so well written. One of the ladies I work with got me into reading the and she just told me the other day that they are making a movie of the first book. I can't wait!

Little Green Squares

I spent Sunday working on LL&L (Letters Leprechauns & Luck) while I watched the Sox then the Celtics. I didn't get far into the Celtics game before I put it down. The little green squares were starting to drive me crazy.

I can't wait to start filling the squares in but, I'd like to get a good section of blocks done before I do. That way I can get a number of squares filled in all at once before I move to another section. We'll see how it goes tonight. I may end up working on more squares.

I didn't get any stitching done last night. DH and I went over to my parents house to see their new little addition.

This is Tessie. It's good to have a puppy in the house again after the loss of Sophie earlier this year. Tessie took to her new home quite happily yesterday.

Other than that not much has been happening. Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

A New Start

I have been working on a gift for the past week so I've had nothing that I can show but, here is a little peek (and yes I mean little) of what I've been working on.

So last night I decided to pick up Letters, Leprechauns, and Luck by Blue Ribbon Designs and give that a start while I watched the Red Sox game.

It's not much of a start but, with all that counting I tend to count and recount to make sure I'm not off any place. I really like this piece and I'm so thankful to Redwich for telling me about it before it even came out back in January.

Here is a picture of the finished piece. I'm posting this picture for 2 reasons. 1 so you all can see what this finished piece looks like and 2 because I ended up with 2 copies of this chart and the fabric for it. So I'm selling the second copy, and the fabric to go with it (a piece of 40 count Tundra that the model was stitch on) If your interested you can contact me at my e-mail address which is under the About Me link in my side bar.

Earlier this week it was just to hot to stitch so I read the latest book by J.R. Ward in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. J.R. had created the most amazing world of vampires that I've been totally addicted to these books since I started reading them back in February of this year.

I went up to New Hampshire at the end of April/begining of May again this year to Celebration of Needlwork. I was worried going up there since I hadn't been stitching as to how I would feel once I got up there. I shouldn't have worried. I was fine. Once I got there and got to see everyone stitching I just wanted to dive right in and stitch too!

A while ago I hasd started working on Ivy and she was the piece I picked up while I was at Celebration to work on. I'll have to see if I can find the bag that the fabric came it. It was a piece that Carol helped me pick out last year at Celebration.

I had a lot of fun geting to see everyone again and meeting new people (Mary, Eileen, Margaret). I did however miss hooking up with Carol this year but, I won't let that happen next year.

I had hoped that once I got back from Celebration I'd have my stitching mojo back. I didn't really, but, I came back to me yesterday. I picked up My Needle's Work by LHN (4 down on the page). I didn't get much done but, I just love this piece and I'm already thinking about when I can work on it again. I just love the scan of his piece as it shows the color chanves in her top much better then what I see when I'm working on it.

Since it's been a while since I posted I thougth I'd share a few pictures of Felix and Stitch or the 'kids' as we call them.

I always seem to be apologizing for not being around. I know when things to bad I should post about it here and share with all of you my friends. Cause I know that makes things easier. I guess I'm just so used to having to deal with things on my own what I don't come here and I keep things to myself.

A little over a month a go my parents took their dog Sophie in to be spayed (she was 6 months old). Well she died during the surgery. In fact it was almost over when she died. They have no idea why this happened. The Dr told them in the 17 years she's been a vet this had never happened to her.

This came as a BIG shock to all of us and hit my parents VERY hard. The good thing is that they are talking about getting another dog but we would truly rather have Sophie back.

here is a picture I took of her on Christmas day with the Red Sox bat toy I got her. I was looking forward to getting to play with her while we watched a few games.

With the loss of Misha and then Sophie things were looking pretty down. DH and I had been looking for kittens and we found these 2 little ones. We brought them home a month ago today.

Felix is on the left and Stitch is on the right. Felix is a boy and Stitch is a girl. Nothing could take the place of Misha but, these 2 have already brought a lot of joy into our lives in the past month.

I've done a bit of stitching but, my scanner is acting up and won't scan the fabric I'm working on properly - it keeps whiting it all out. So I don't have a picture to show you what I'm doing. I hope as I get more done the stitching might make the scanner read the fabric better.

I've also been reading. I just finished what is out of a series about vampires called the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

I have been reading everyones blogs but I've not been commenting. I will try and be better about that.

I want to ty you all who've sent me gits and cards in the mail (and e-cards too) for my birthday. I just love everything I've received.

I came home today to a card from Vonna waiting for me in the mail box.

Vonna sent me a package of Tapestry needles. How did you know I was running low on needles Vonna?!? :) a Skein of Gentle Art - Cranberry, and a Little House Needleworks Pattern called Schoolgirl Lessons. It says on it. Reading, Writing and Stitching. I can't wait to get to work on this.

I got the first 1/2 of my SBBC gift in the mail last week. Kim S has me and she spoiled me with a "green theme" to my birthday package. Her letter was even written in green pen.

She sent me 2 charts from my wish list, 2 pieces of green fabric. I can't wait to find something I can finish these off with. She also sent me a stack of different green teas.

Then today I also go the second part of her gift. Kim you did a beautiful job on the fob you sent! I've seen this pattern before but, I can't quite remember where.

So that's just a little pop in from me. I know this post is kind of all over the map but, I'm just having one of thouse days. I hope everyone has a good week.

Another Gift

I arrived home today to a box from Carol waiting for me. Carol knows I'm a Harry Potter fan and inside I found the cutest little box. The pattern on it is called Hedwig's Four Patch Box. Carol did the most beautiful job on this box. Her finishing techniquies are just amazing. Than You so much Carol! I just love it and your right the purple moon is pretty cool! :)

I've put the box up with all my other stitching things I've recieved from my friends. DH looked at the box tonight and his first words to me were 'what are you going to put in it?" Well I'm not sure but, I know I'll find something special.

Carol also sent me a piece of 28 ct Hand Dyed Jobelan called Lavender Sunset. I can't wait to find something to stich on it.

Here is a peek at the inside of the box. It's funny the fabric doesn't look that blue IRL but, it sure did pop when I took the picture of it.

Almost the big day

My Birthday is on Saturday this year and when I got home from work tonight I had my first birthdy gift waiting for me in the mail. It was from Harmien. I was so excited when I saw the package and who it was from.

Thank you so much Harmien! You've already made my birthday so special. I've put the box ontop of my stiching cabnet along with everything else I've gotten from my friends.

I had Monday off of work which was so nice since it was raining here so I got to snuggle up and do a ltitle stitching and reading durring the day. I also have Friday off. So does DH. We are talking about maybe going and looking for a kitten or 2 and see what we can find.

For all of you who have more then one cat I have a question for you. If you are getting 2 kittens is it better to get them from the same litter or from 2 different litters? I thought I'd read years ago that you should get them from 2 different litters but, it seems that people are not telling me I should get them from the same litter. I just wanted to see what all of you thought.

Thank you to all of you who left me messages and send me e-mails about Misha. They have meant a lot to both myself and my DH. They found a tumor in her tummy when I took her up to the Vet a week and 1/2 ago, and they were 99% sure it was cancer. She wasn't holding any foods down and she couldn't use the littler box. I didn't want her to be in any pain so last Tuesday I took her up to the vets. I still miss her so much. I keep expecting to look into the living room and find her there on the couch.

We are talking about getting another kitten soon maybe even two.

I got around to doing some stitching yesterday. Not as much as I'd like but, it's a start. I would have done some stitching sooner but, I misplaced my magnifying glass and I'm just not able to see the holes in the fabric very well with out them.

I'm working on what will be the pin cushion. I bought a round wood box from the Subderry House a few years ago and this piece will go inside the opening on the top of the box.

While I’m on the topic of using a magnifying glass. I went up to the Thistle Needlework on Saturday DH came with me. I thought I might be able to find a new glass since I couldn't find mine. Either that or just going up there would make mine come out of hiding at the house which it did cause we found it in the front hall closet when we got home. Anyway I have to say, and I've said it before but, I just don’t think I said it on my blog, I really don't care for the owner (not sure if she's the owner but, she's always there) of the Thistle. I went in there on Saturday and asked for a magnifying glass. She directs me to the glasses you wear on your face.. I told her that's not what I’m looking for and she tells me that they don't make a clip on magnifying glass that will fit onto Q-Snaps. I know they do as I have one and I've seen others on line that fill fit but, I didn't want to say anything to her. I just told her I wasn't interested in what she was trying to get me to buy. When we walked out of the store DH looked at me knowing the Lady was wrong. He's like boy she's pushy. You could just tell she only wants you to buy what's in her shop and if she doesn't have it it doesn't exist/you don't need it.

Ok thanks for letting me rant...now back to our regularly scheduled program. :)

Morning all! Yes here I am bright and early (kind of) on this Monday morning. Still no stitching but, I hope to do some soon. I keep thinking about stitching now I just have to find the time to sit down and do some. My books still seem to be calling to me louder then my stitching.

That reminds me I need to change the current book I'm reading in my tool bar. (mental note to myself *grin*)

I tried to go and catch up on everyones post this weekend. I didn't do much - if any - commenting but, know I've caught up on almost everyones lives so far and you've all made me green with envy with all your beautiful stitching.

I like a lot of you was the recipient of the generous person who sent out floss to everyone at Christmas time. Did we ever find out who it was? I at first though it was Harmien cuase it was packaged the same was as something I'd received from her.

A finish and a new (extended) family member

Last Friday (the 2nd) was An's Birthday. I got the cutest fob from her for my birthday earlier this year and I was so excited to be able to make something for her.

I know An likes LHN designs and she had posted on her blog a few weeks ago that she has them all but, she's never gotten to stitch any of them. So when I came across these 2 little sheep I knew I had to do them for her. I aslso sent her two pieces of fabric that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of. (you can see the fabric and the pillow on An's blog)

My parents have a new additon to the family.

This is Sophie and she's a yellow lab. In this picture she was 7 weeks old. They have had her almost 2 weeks now and she's into everything.

I've been doing a little stitching but, not much. Reading still seems to be my major pull right now but I do hope to get my exhcange committments done soon so I can get back to stitching for me...I hope this will be the trick to getting me back into the stitching mood.

Well kind of. I've been doing a lot of reading lately. I've become hooked on on Paper Back Swap and that has got me reading a lot lately.

I have been doing some stitching also. I've been working on Acorn Hill.

I don't think I'm going to have enough floss to get this entire piece done. Amy at Down Sunshine Lane is selling what is suppose to be enough floss to get the piece done but, I think I'm going to have to contact her. I know this piece just came out so how much floss you get might need to be fine tuned.

I've also got a few gifts and PIF's that I'm working on but, those can't be shown till they are sent. Soon...very soon I hope.

Redwitch had a contest on her blog for her one year Blogaversary. I didn't win the contest but, she still sent me a GC to Down Sunshine Lane because I was one of the first people to comment on her blog when she started and kept her motivated. It was so sweet of her and I can't thank her enough.

I've also been meaning to post this for a while. I'd seen on Dawn's blog a needle roll she had down. I posted to her asking if I could borrow the magazine it was from so I could stitch the piece and when she sent me the magazine she sent a long the cutest little fob.

Thanks again Dawn! It was so sweet of you! I can't wait to get started on this piece and I can now that I've got the fabric for it.

The NFL season started again today and I and a nice relaxing day watching the games and stitching. I started on a new piece today I got Acorn Hill by Little House Needlworks.

I'm doing this on the same fabirc I did Gourmet Garden on. Carol is going to find taht I'm doing this piece funny cause I told her that Gourmet Garden (that i stitched for DH's Aunt) wasn't really my type of stitching and as soon as I say that I see Acorn Hill.

Thank you for all your well wishes. I was back up and running by Friday and stitching again by Saturday. I felt more like a fool for doing it then anything else but, from what I've heard from people most who wear contacts do this at least once in their life. It just took me 16 years of wearing contacts to do it.

I finished the stitching on my first PIF gift. Now I just need to get the little bits and pieces I'll need to finish it. I'm still kind of scared on finishing this since I've never really finished any of my work before but, I just keep telling myself how hard can it be and that I can do it.

Stupid Me

I did the stupidest thing yesterday morning. To make a long story really short. I put an contact lens in straight out of the disinfectant so I 'burned' my cornea. I'll be find but, I've basically been living in the dark for the past 2 days. I'm pretty much ok now....the bright light still kind of hurts my eyes but, it's mostly cause I've been in the dark so long. I need to get use to it cause I really have to go to work tomorrow.

So I'm here not getting any stitching done and trying to read your blogs and comment when I can.

Scotland

Vonna asked me the other day what Scotland would look like finished. It must be an out of print chart cuase I wasn't able to find a photo of it on line either Vonna. I scanned the picture on the front of the chart. It looks like the chart is all back, white and grey but, there are a lot of other lighter colors in the empty area next to her.

I've been working on my PIF allweekend so no progress pictures to share. My mind has been going crazy trying to figure out how to finish this. I'm thinking of doing a pin keep. Does anyone know where I can get the pins with the nice large heads to use if I decide to make this into a pink keep?

I worked on Everyone's Nook this week at lunch when I could. We had sales meetings all this week at work so most days I was to busy to get to stitch at lunch. I did find out what my mistake was in the flower. I added a row on the top left side. I'm going to leave it for now and maybe later go back and fix it..I'll see how I feel and if I keep seeing the mistake the more work I do on it.

I did start Scotland last night but, I really don't have much to show you. I started the piece doing it 2plys of floss over one and I just thought it looked kind of messy so I frogged that all out then did it 1 over 1 and it looks a lot better but, the light pink color I'm doing is really hard to see with only one strand. I had started the piece on fabric that I gridded but, as I was working on it I took the grid lines/floss out of the fabric because the black I used to grid was getting into the lighter color floss. I think If I just take it one section at a time I'll be ok with not having the fabric gridded.

I'm started my first PIF gift today. I've had the idea of what to stitch for this person for a while. Now I just need to figure out how I'll finish it.

Lots of pictures

I got my pieces back from the framers on Friday night. I stopped in on the way home. I put them all up right when I got home and I'm so happy with how they came out.

The Little Kate pieces got hung (obviously) in the bathroom. Sorry the picture is a little out of focus.

Celtic Heart got hung up in the living room. I'll have to see if I can get a pictures of the detail in the frame.

I did get to pick up Everyones Nook as the week went on. I thought I'd show you it on the fabric I originally started it on.

and the fabric that I decided to change it too. MMmm the fabric scanned more blue then green. I did make a mistake in the center of the flower on the top left side that I'm going to have to sit down today and see if I can figure it out. If not I'll leave it.

I've not started Scotland yet. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I'm kind of afraid to start a HAED. What If I can't do it? What if I make mistakes I can't fix? I see everyone working on them and they are so pretty that I wanted to be included in the fun. Maybe I'll try and pick it up while i watch the baseball.

You know I really do mean to get on here and blog more then once a week. I just don't know where the days go lately. Maybe it's just cause it's Summer.

I finished Gourmet Garden last night. I really enjoyed working on it. For finishing this I treated myself to Scotland by HAED's. I've been griding the fabric for it at work all last week.

The other piece I think I'm going to be working on is Everyone's Nook by Ladybug Lane. I'd stated this a few *gulp* years ago on the fabric it called for 32 count Green Tea by Lakeside Linens and I didn't like the fabric at all so that is the main reason I put it down. I came across a Silkweavers fabric that I've decided to do the piece on it's a 28 count Cahsel Linen called Fern and I think the piece will look so pretty on it.

DH and I last Tuesday went and saw The Police in concert. I have to say it was a totally AMAZING night. I never got to see them when I was growing up so I've been waiting 23 years to see them. It's like a dream now that I've seen them. Can't believe it's really over. :)

Just wanted to post what I got done today. There are small white hearts after each word on the last three lines but, they are hard to see on the scan. I'm getting to where I can see the end of this project. I has been fun to stitch but, I'm looking forward to moving on to something else.

Rainy Day

We went out yesterday afternoon to see the Simpsons Movie. DH and I had a lot of fun. The movie was VERY funny. It was nice to see them push the envelope as to what they could/would do.

It has been thundering off in the distance all day and when we got home the rain finally arrived. So I sat on the couch and stiched. Bar one tree on the right side of the hill I'm done with everything from Thyme up.

I'm thinking that I'm going to keep working on this till it's done. I can hear a few other projects calling to me. but, I'd like to get this done. I'll see how working on it goes today while I watch the baseball and then decide what I'll do next.

Framing

Here is my most recent scan of Gourmet Garden. I know I've said it before but, I'll say it again. I love working on this piece. It's still not my 'thing' if you know what I mean but, it's a nice simple piece to work on.

I dropped off 4 pieces to be framed yesterday. Celtic Heart and the 3 Margaret Sherry bath pieces that I did. I should have them back in 2 weeks. I've been thinking that I might enter Celtic Heart in the fair this year.

I ordered the frame for Family Medley the other day. I should have it any day now and then I'll bring that up to be framed also. I also ordered some 25 count Lugana. I want to start Scotland by HAED and the piece I had wasn't big enough.

Not much else has been going on. Just trying to make it though the work week and keep up with everyone's blogs. Thanks for stopping by.

I started Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Saturday morning when I woke up and I fished it yesterday afternoon about 2pm. I liked it. I've heard people saying they didn't like the ending but, I didn't mind it at all. I'll probably pick it back up soon and have a look at it again. I know I didn't miss anything when I was reading it but, I want to be able to have a read of a few things again.

After I finished the book I picked back up Gourmet Garden. the house stitched up pretty quickly last night. I'll probably start work on the rest of the hill and the trees on it tonight.

While I was reading I had my stitching stuff on the table in front of me and Misha decided it was nap time. I can't believe that she fit inside the q-snaps. (I think these are the 8"...or maybe it's the 11"....is there an 11"?)

I found this little guy on my flowers yesterday when I was out in the yard. Thought I'd share him with everyone.

Harry Potter

I got the new book last night. Actually I got 2, one for me and one for DH I figured that each one of us wasn't going to want to wait for the other to finish the book so they could start it so I got 2 copies so we could each read it at the same time.

We sent to Madison last night and got our copies at RJ Julia. This is such a great book store I wish we lived closer to it as I enjoy going there so much. They did a great job last night. They had a big tent outside the back of the shop with a band playing, trivia, face painting, games and much more. We spent most of the time there just sitting on the side lines watching everyone. It was fun watching all the kids dressed up and running around.

Then right on midnight, after a countdown by everyone there (I'd say a good 200, if not more, people) they opened up the boxes and started passing out the books. I'm glad to say I'm not the only one who picked up 2 books. Heck some people had more!

I'm off to continue my reading. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I'll be back later with a scan of Gourmet Garden I got a little bit done this week. Enough to warrant a scan.

I just don't have anything to show for it because my scanner is acting up on me. It does this from time to time. When I try and scan a light piece it washes the whole piece out so you really can't see anything on it.

I started Gourmet Garden by Little House Needleworks. This is the piece that DH's aunt asked me to stitch for her The pattern arrived on Friday so over the weekend I picked out some fabric do stitch this on and got to work. I'm stitching this on some fabric I got from Carol last year. It's a 28 count jobelan called African Daisy.

2005 Flip-It. Stitched on 28 ct Opalescent Cahel I got my L*K July done with this finish I'm more then 1/2 way done. I changed the border on this from white to Red as I knew the white wouldn't show on the fabric I'm stitching this on.

A gift and some help

Today is Vonna's birthday and I sent her the needle book above. She received it today and I got the nicest thank you e-mail (Thanks Vonna!) I knew she liked flowers and the color yellow so I knew I had my work cut out for me when I found this pattern.

I started my Lizzie Kate July piece yesterday. I didn't think the red border for the stamp was going to show to well on the yellow fabric so I changed the border to red.

I need your help. My DH's Aunt would like me to stitch this piece for her. She has said right off the bat that she would pay me to do this. So doing it as a gift is not a option but, it was a sweet idea for thouse of you who asked me about it or mentioned it.

I"m trying to figure how much I should charge her to do this piece. I would be paying for the chart, fabric, floss and shipping it to her in Australia. Is $50.00 US out of line? I was thinking of $40.00 but, I don't want to sell myself short or end up not getting much for my time cause what I'd need to stitch the piece and mail it would cost more then I realize.

My MIL would like me to do a piece for her too but, she's not decided on one yet but, the one she's looking at (different style - she wants Chickens for her Kitchen).

Monday was DH's birthday I took the day off to spend with him. We didn't do anything special just went out and spent the day together. I got him a small cake we had while watching tv on Monday night.

Thank you all for the kind words you left me the other day. I frogged out what I'd already stitched and moved it out a row to meet up with what was off by a stitch on the bottom. I just see all the beautiful work everyone is doing and I just feel like what i do isn't as good as everyone elses when I make a stupid mistake like that.

Well I didn't make it into New Haven the other day (just to dang hot) and I probably won't be going in at all this week. It's just been crazy and people are complaining about the production company people not letting anyone see anything and if you do they are making you destroy on the spot any photos that you might take. Kind of sucks but, at least the papers and the news have been having good coverage of it all. From what I understand (and I could be wrong) what they are shooting is stuff that will be at the beginning of the movie. Other than that I've not heard much about it.

I spent most of the evening working on Family Medley and I was just about done with the border when I noticed that I'm off by one stitch... (sorry about the bad scan)

I can't really fix it cause I run into the words and the house at the bottom. I just don't know what to do. I think my house is off a row and that's the problem but, I can't go and frog it all out...it's just way to much...

When something like this happens it makes me wonder why I stitch at all....I'm off to cry. I'm sorry I don't mean to sound so.....upset about it...but, when something like this happens I just want to give up stitching.

I got almost tall the stitching done on the inside of the piece. I just need to do the 2 little designs over the sheep and then the border. Once I add the buttons I'll be all done. I did change the piece a little. the word home at the bottom. the O was suppose to be up in the air like the E in Be but, I didn't like the way it looked so I dropped the O down.

I'm kind of not looking forward to this week. One of the ladies I work with is out this week and I'm covering for her as well as doing my job. I hope I can get everything done...or should I say I hope my boss gives me the time to get everything done. Next Monday is DH's Birthday so I've taken the day off to spend it with him. He's also taken this Friday off so he has a 4 day weekend. Lucky! :)

They are going to be filming the new Indiana Jones movie in New Haven starting this coming Thursday thru the 7th of July. There was a big story in our local paper today about it. New Haven is going to be showing the first Indiana Jones movie on the green Thursday night. DH and I are thinking of going. There are rumors going around that Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford might show. Can't let that pass me by! :)

I've got a few gifts I need to work on including a card for DH for his birthday. So I'd better get to work on them.

Busy Saturday

I was able to find some time to work on Family Medley today. I was hopeing to maybe get it finished but, I was doing a lot of work outside and I hung the curtins I bought last week. I hope to be able to get this done tomorrow or Monday. I'm not sure what to move onto next. I'd kine of like to have a work project and a home project but, I'm not sure what is calling to me at the moment to work on. I'll just go though all the stuff I got up at Celebration and see if anything calls out to me.

We got a lot of work done around the house today. Both inside and out. I was able to get some pictures of the Lily's in the back yard....Should have taken them after I did the weeding and put the mulch down though *grin*

I'm almost to the top of Family Medley. I just need to stitch the other sheep and then there is some type of design above them. I'm thinking I'm going to save the border till everything inside is stitched. I'm afraid if I do it first that It will get stretched out of shape with the Q-Snaps.

It was raining yesterday when I left work. It was one of those particular rains where its raining but, there is blue sky over you. So I got to see the most beautiful rainbow. The colors just seem to keep on going. I wish I had been in a better spot so I could have gotten a picture of it.

I had a peek out into my back yard this morning before I left for work and My Lily's are starting to bloom. I'll hope to have pictures of them tonight or tomorrow.

I've been working on Family Medley lately. The going has been slow but, I'm enjoying it. For such a small piece it seems to be taking a long time.

I felt like I hit a stride working on it yesterday (that doesn't sound strange does it?) and I think working on it will go a lot faster.

After the busy week I had last week this week has been nice and relaxing. I didn't do much over the weekend and I got the sleep I needed. I'm still a little tired but, I think that's mostly due to the heat.

Sorry for not posting much this week but, we had an emergency at work. An order for a customer got sent out incorrectly (the customers fault not ours) and it was returned. I've been staying late each night till 8pm to help take apart the bags so the ladies in the shop can fix them. So needless to say I've not been stitching or reading blogs. I'm trying to catch up on my blog reading tonight. I hope to have some stitching pictures for you tomorrow.

A quick post

It is Cathey's Birthday next week and she received my birthday gift yesterday. It's a compact mirror. I'd seen it before I sent to Celebration and I couldn't pass it up. I think the metallic thread I used to out line it looks great. It gives the piece a little extra something.

The last Mirabilia fairy is out. She is the Thanksgiving Harvest Fairy. I'm sad to say I don't care for her at all. I was so looking forward to the last one. Maybe I'm disappointed because i didn't think Thanksgiving would be the last holiday... but, I really don't like the way she looks.

I've been doing a little stitching but, I've not gotten enough done lately to feel like I can show a scan of what I've done. Hopefully soon.

I didn't think I had enough floss to finish her so I was planning on ordering more this morning when I got up but my DH found some floss that I'd dropped on the floor so I just had to finish it before I left for work today.

Little by little

Is it just me or when we have a holday week does the rest of the week seem to go by so much slower then a normal 5 day work week? :) I thought this week was never going to end.

I'm so close to getting this piece done. I'm hopeing that I can maybe get it done tomorrow as I'd really like to move onto something else. I watched the baseball today and worked on the flower on the right side of the heart and started to fill in the right side of the hole that is left.

Last Saturday I went out to the Christmas Tree shop and got this table for our sun room.

We have been enjoing eating dinner out in the sun room every night. Its so much cooler out there, with the windows open, then the rest of the housee (except the familyroom). We also went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End last Saturday. It wasnt' my favorite of the 3 movies...but, it was good and DH and I had a lot of fun. There are so many things coming out this Summer I feel like I'm going to be living at the movies.

I tried to post all day yesterday but, I just couln't log on to blogger. :( We had a nice relaxing day yesterday. There were a lot of sporting events on yestery day so I was able to sit and get a lot of stitching done.

I didn't do all this yesterday. I've been working on it durring the week but, have just not found the time to post at night. I have to say I'm still enjoying this but, I'm getting tired of being visited by the frog every time I turn around.

We've had a few new flowers popping up in our back yard. I managed to take a picture of one of the Iris's that come out just the other day. I hope more things start to bloom soon.

I've been tagged by 2 people to do the 8 things about me...but, I just can't think of anything to share. I'm still working on it so I hope to have mine done soon.

Here is my update on Celtic Heart. I enjoyed working on it so much today (I got evrything you see inside the heart done today) even with being visited by the frog twice. and when he came boy where they BIG mistakes. I was really looking forward to working on the knot in the center of the heart. I like that part very much so I'm happy to now have it done.

I'm hopeing to have this done soon so I can move onto something else. At the moment working on one piece at a time is working very well for me. While other pieces are calling me it feels good to work on one piece and want to get it done.

I hope this week goes quickly. I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing 3 day weekend next weekend.

More Celtic Heart

Here is what I've been able to get done while watching the Red Sox today. I get lost working on this piece. I thought it would take me forever to do but, it really is just speeding alone. I can see finishing this one pretty soon.

Now some of you might know that I'm a very superstitions person (being a Red Sox fan and having to go with them not winning a world series for 86 years you have to be) well you Sox fans have me to thank for yesterday's Mothers Day come back in the 9th. I turned the tv off in the 8th and said to everyone. "Now that I've turned the tv off we are going to have the greatest come back in Red Sox history.' *grin* Ok so maybe I have a little ESP thrown in there too. :)

A Good Friend

I had a wonderful mail day today. A few weeks ago I sent a package off to Cathey containing my
2 Margaret Sherry charts that I'd given up getting the eyes done on cause I just couldn't get the french knots down.

Well they arrived home today complete with wonderful french knot eyes. Thank you so much Cathey!!

I didn't get any stitching done today. We are having my parents over for mothers day tomorrow and I spent the day cleaning the house and outside and guess what I got to do today!?! I mowed my lawn! I know it sounds silly but, I've never done it before. My dad would always do it when I lived at home. I know the novelty will wear off soon but, for now it was so cool to get to do it.

Misha took up residence on my suitcase as soon as I came home Sunday. I guess it's her way of telling me she misses me. I've been able to get into the bag a few times, when she's not been on it, to get some stuff out. Poor thing doesn't know yet that the bag is going away tomorrow since we are having company over on Sunday and it's in the middle of our living room.

I got a little work done on Celtic Heart yesterday.

I'm having so much fun working on this piece. I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching the baseball game tonight and getting to work on it.

I made it back home on Sunday from Celebration. I had a fun time and got to see a lot of old friends and meet a few new ones. (Cathey, click the link for Celebration and it will take you to the web site. I'd love it if you could come down next year! Registration usually opens in Feb)

While up at Celebration I got to see Carol and Margaret again and meet Jo and her husband Pete for the first time. We all had a good time together. We all went out to dinner one night at Shortys and Mary, Carol and I went shopping on Friday at a needlework shop in Mass not more then a 10 min ride from Celebration. We also had fun on Friday morning shopping

I shared a room again with Mary. Her birthday is this week so I brought her gift up with me. I stitched her a bag with a Britty Kitty pattern on it and I filled the bag with some Lizzie Kate charts and kits.

I didn't get a picture of the whole bag just the part I stitched. If I can get a picture of the bag I'll post it for you all to see.

I worked on my Lizzie Kate Flip it for June since I had done May back in Jan when I was able to get 2 months done at the same time. Boy did I have a devil of a time working on this one. I was visited by the frog the entire time I worked on it. Hopefully next month will go smoothly.

Here is what my L*K piece looks like. I know a number of you had asked me if I was doing them asked me if I was doing them on one piece or separately. Sorry the pictures not the best. I'll try and get a better one soon.

And here is the progress I made of Celtic Heart. I'm really enjoying working on this piece. I can't wait to get the border done so I can move onto the heart.

On Saturday night at Celebration We (Mary, Jo, Margaret and I) went to the Saturday Night Social. We all had a lot fun. We each one (or I should say everyone at our table did) a beautiful picture frame. Each table got a box (or bag) in a game similar to Lets Make a Deal.

Each year at the Social they also have a silent auction for Breast Cancer. Mary bid on, and won, a beautiful hand made quilt for a King Size bed. Jo bid on, and also won a signed copy of Carriage House Samplings Suzannah and the fabric, silk and frame. I fell in love with a basket full of fabrics and I wasn't going to leave with out it.

So here are a few pictures of what I won.

Not only is there fabric when I dug into it I found fabric to use for a kitchen towel, a tea cozy I can stitch on, some bands of fabric and a cute little cause I could use for glasses or maybe my cell phone.

And lastly here are some pictures of some of the stash I came home with.

Another bad scan. Sorry about that. :) I'm just loving working on this piece. It's going so quickly. I'm going to put this piece down on Tuesday so I can work on another L*K flip-it but, I think I'm going to make this my main stitching piece till I get it done.

I'm hoping that tomorrow and Tuesday go quickly. I got back into the swin of stitching with Mary over the weekend and now I really want to get up to NH so I can spend even more time stitching and seeing all my blogging friends.

Busy few days

Mary was in Hartford for a few days for a Genealogy conference. I went up to see her on Thursday and we went out to the Thistle Needlework. We both got a lot of nice stash.

I want to at some point do Renaissance Lady that was in the March 07 issue of the UK Cross Stitcher so I got the beads I'll need for her. I also got a few items' that were on my wish list. "Unguns the Dragon - Butterflies" and "Make a Wish" by Lily of the Valley. Mary got me Illustrative Blackwork Fantasy by Dragon Dreams that was also on my wish list. I also got Britty Kitties V and a cord spiner to make cords for things that I finish.

Then yesterday I went back up to see Mary again and we went out to dinner and then we hung out and stitched and watched TV. It was a fun night and I'm looking forward to getting to do it again next week in NH.

Mary told me about the Châtelaine Designs Mystery XI: The Celtic Mystery that is going to be starting in Jan of 08. I've been waiting for this one so I signed up for it when I got home Thursday night. (I forgot to tell you that yesterday Mary)

I also have been doing some stitching. I finished 2 gifts but, I can't show them to they arrive safe and sound at their destinations. Hopefully soon I can show pictures. I did do a little work last night on my Little Snap Dragon. I didn't get much done but it did feel so good to work on him again after so long.

I also worked on Celtic Hart a little while I was waiting for Mary on Thursday. Sorry it's not the best scan. Looking at this piece I know I didn't get a lot done but, I feel like this piece is moving a long quickly. Sorry that you can see all my extra floss though the fabric.

I don't' know why she decided to start sleeping there but, she looks cute.

What a comfy spot. on the bristly mat AND in the sun.

I've been stitching but, it's been on my PIF's and a few gifts so I don't have anything to show at the moment. We did some work around the house this past weekend including putting up the number plate that my dad gave us for Christmas.

The flowers out in the back yard are out in full bloom and there are many others that should be coming out soon.

I finished my April Flip-It over the weekend but, it's just taken me this long to find the time to get it scanned and posted up here for all of you to see.

I hope to have a picture of the entire piece (so far) for everyone to see soon - hopefully tonight.

We got about 7+ inches of rain over the past 3 days here. A lot of the streets on my way to work have been flooded since there are small rivers and streams near them that have now over flowed. It's still cloudly out but it looks like the rain has stopped for the most part.

I listen to Imus in the morning when I'm getting ready to go to work and on my drive to work. (for those of you outside the US he's a radio DJ who is syndicated around the US). He got fired from his job today for something he said last week. I'm not going to get into the controversy. My only point in bringing this up is that I've been listening to him on and off since I was 6 (most of the time on but, there was a time when I was in collage and starting out on my own that I didn't...and yes I said 6...My mom would listen to him in the morning's and there for so would I). It's just be come such a part of my routine that I don't know what I'm going to do when I get up tomorrow and he's not there to listen to.

I almost finished April today. You really can't tell but, I'm filing in around April with a color that is almost like the fabric so it's kind of hard to see. After that I need to do the bands on the baset. I know I got the color I need to do the bands but, I can't find it so I'm going to have to make a stop tomorrow and pick up the color. So I should have this done tomorrow.

I will try and take a picture of the wole piece so far once I get April done.

Has anyone else seen the new Passione Ricamo chart yet? I think she is stunning.

Thank you to everyone who has left me comments and sent me e-mails on my last post. I'm thinking I will probably take my last post down but, keep it in my post listing so if I'm every feeling down again I can read all your kind words.

I did get a little stitching done this past week but, not much. I use to find comfort in stitching but, I don't at the moment. I did enjoy the time I spent working on "April' on Saturday. I just hope I can get back into it helping me relax.

I also worked a litte on my Celtic Heart. It's not a very good scan. Look more like a big red blob to me. I hope once I get more done on it you'll be able to see the detail on it better.

I'm turning into one of those people I hate. You know the ones. They have no kids, no family and they are unhappy and mean all the time.

I feel like I've reached my breaking point and i'm about ready to just give up. I'm not happy...I couldn't tell you the last time I was happy. I mean truely not a care in the world, happy with how my life it happy. I'm sad all the time. I don't care about things that I use to. I use to stitch all the time. I loved it so much. Now all I want to do is throw everything in the garbage. I have no friends, no one to talk with, no one to tell how I feel. No one to help me when i'm ready to give up.

I don't understand my place in the world. I don't feel like I'm here for any reason. I feel like a mistake. Now I know why I'll never have a baby. I'm an ugly, worthless mistake and who would want me for a mother.

All i want is to be happy and to feel loved.

I couldn't get my head around stitching yesterday. I did start my April L*K but, I didn't get far enough to warrant a photo. Hopefully tonight.

I went out into the back yard yesterday and so far the only flowers we have is this pretty little crocus plant. I bought some flowers from one of the ladies here at work who's son was selling them for Boy Scouts. I hope they come in soon as now I can't wait to get out and plant.

I bought these little guys before we bought the house and they have been living on our porch till It got nice enough for me to be able to put them outside. Actually I didn't want to put them out till I knew where flowers would be growing. Didn't want to put them on top of the flowers.

Can anyone help me on this. I found this pot in our back yard behind one of the bushes. The previous owners left us a lot of stuff (lawn mower, hoses, stuff like that. So we are always finding things all over the place. It's like a treasure hunt. *grin*

I've seen these pots before I know the holes are so when you plant something in it they will grow out the holes. My problem is I don't know what to plant in it (is there a certain plant or flower I should get for this pot?) and does this pot have a name? I'd like to know so when I go into the plant store I'll know what I'm talking about.

Celtic Heart

Here is what I've gotten done so far on Celtic Heart.

I decided to start working on the inside rather that doing all of the border first. Less counting and I feel like I'm getting more done.

I was working outside the house over the weekend and I noticed that flowers are starting to come up in the flower bed near the house in the back yard. I don't have pictures of it yet but, I'll keep an eye on them and post some as soon as they get bigger and start to bloom. I bought some bulbs from one of the ladies I work with (her son was selling them for boy scouts). I can't wait for them to come in so I can get out in back and plant them, now that I know where things are blooming so far. I also need to make a trip to the garden store in the next few weeks once they start to get their flowers in so I can get some more plants for the back yard. I have a great spot in the back corner of the yard that I want to plant daisy's in.

Now you might all think this is a cute picture of Misha and that she just decided to sit there on my side of bed bed. Nope. :) this is the spot she has chosen to sleep at night. So that means the little big of space to the right of her is all I get of the pillow.
I have been stitching at work the last few days. I am working on Celtic Heart (way down at the bottom of the page) by M Designs. I don't have much done. Well nothing that is much to look at just the lines of the border so far. I hope by the end of the week I might have something to show.

I got my confirmation for Celebration in the mail the other day. I got all the classes that I wanted. Now time just needs to fly so I can get up there and relax.

I have to say all of you with your PIF gifts are making me green with envy. I so worried when I start to do mine they won't be as good as what you are all doing. Maybe that is why I've not started mine yet.

Mary had told me that she sent me my birthday package the other day. I knew she'd gotten me the Enchanted Fairy. It arrived today and now I know what took so long. She got me the pattern, fabric, and all the beads and flosses that I'll need to complete it (there are 2 Waterlilies flosses I didn't get a picture of. They are behind the fabric).

Thank you so much Mary! I've been fondling fabric and floss all night. :)

I also got in the mail today a PIF from Dawn. Dawn sent me a post card from Arkansas, Trail Creek Farm pattern and a Britter Cup Designs piece she stitched for me and made into a hanging piece. Thanks Dawn! I've hung the piece on the door to my stitching room.

Well I had 2 'kind of' finishes today. I was able to get both of the Margaret Sherry pieces I've been working on 99.999999999% done. I'm just stuck on getting the eyes on the little girl and the cat done. I've been trying to get the french knots done but, so far no luck. I'll keep trying and I hope to get the hang of them again soon. I would have posted pictures of what they look like with out the french knots but, the little girl looks kind of creepy. (at least to me she does)

I pulled out my Margaret Sherry bath pieces yesterday. I'm so close to getting them done...well at least the bath one when I sat down with them yesterday....so I thought I should get to work on them and get them done.

This is the tub one. I didn't work on it yesterday but, I don't think I posted a picture of it when I worked on it the last time back in...man I think it was October.
And here is squeaky clean I did about 90% of what you see her yesterday. These are both so fun to work on (and so was the one that I finished last Summer).

I've been thinking that I'd like to go back to working on small pieces at work during my lunch and then have a larger piece that I'm working on at home. I've done this before and I felt that I was getting a lot more done doing it that way. I'll have to go though my stash and see what might call to me to be my work project when these are done.

I didn't mean to be so quite for this long. I've just been in a funk and trying to get out of it. I think I am but, I'm still having my blue moments/days. I don't know why I keep getting like this. I try and put the thoughts that are getting me down out of my mine but, they keep popping back up. I guess it's cuase I can't find an answer for them.

My order arrived from ABC Stitch yesterday. A few items that I need for these kits are still on back order but, I should have them soon.

I spent what free time I had today finishing up my March Lizzie Kate Flip-It. Once I can get the border and the month name done the rest of it I can knock off in a day. If I hadn't been so lazy this month and last month I could have gotten them done in 2 or 3 days.

I also found my Blackwork Fantasy Garden piece. I'd actually been looking at it all this time. I'd put it on top of my stitching cabinet but, I thought it was another piece so I didn't really take a good look at it till today. I started in the middle and I'm going to try and do a lot of the borders before I do the filling in of the blackwork. I thought this might make it go faster.

I dragged DH to see The Bridge to Tarabithia today. I loved this book when I as little and I was so excited to see that they had made it into a movie. Then we came home and got some more junk out of the garage. Actually there are a bunch of boxes filled with stuff that need to be thrown out and some that need to go into the basement then maybe I can put my car in the garage.

I've done some stitching this week but, most of it was on a gift that I can't show yet. I also started on my Blackwork Fantasy Garden but, I can't find the pice at the moment so I don't have a picture to share. Hopefully next time.

and I couldn't pass either of them up. I think I acutally squeeled when they came up. I know they don't have faces and they look a little strange...at least I think Fern looks stranger then Ivy but, I just fell in love with them.

Now I have to make a decision as to what I do with my 50 project challenge, Start over, Keep going from where, or just give up and try and be good. Other then Celebration I can't see myself buying more stash. Just stuff to finish what I already have (fabric, floss, stuff like that).

Birthday Post - Long

Today is my birthday and I've and I've had a nice day. I took the day off work and have just spent the day relaxing. DH is taking me out to dinner tonight and we are going to the Casino tomorrow. We would have gone today but, DH couldn't get the day off work.

But before i get to my birthday it was Jamies birthday yesterday and I made her a Pisces needlebook that she got yesterday. So now I can share a picture of it with all of you.

Firs I want to thank Mary, Missy, Anne and Dawn for the E-cards they sent to me. Missy also sent me a Gift Certificate to Down Sunshine Lane that I used to get a biscornu kit from The Cat's Whiskers. Mary is sending me the Enchanted Fairy pattern.

The first gift I opened was from Cathy. It was from the Stitching Bloggers Birthday/Christmas Club Exchange. She sent me the Britty Kitty VI Patterns, a project holder, 4 Crescent Colors skeins of floss and a Beatuiful pin keeper. Thanks so much Cathy!

I got these GAST flosses and floss holder from Michelle. Michelle. Your are right the colors of the flosses are bright!

From Carol. I got Family Medley by Heart in Hand off my wish list a new pair of scissors and the most beautiful needle book. I've scanned it open for everyone to see it and what it says. Thanks so much Carol your work is just beautiful and it means so much to me to get something from you.

Julie sent me the same Heart in Hand pattern as Carol. You both have great tastes in pattens to both pick it out for me. :) *hugs to you both*

Here is what was inside the pretty blue package from Annmaire. I have to say I'm as green as the frog on the fob that she made for me. Annmaire does the most perfect french knots I've EVER seen! :) I think I'm going to send all my pieces that need french knots in them over to her to do for me from now on. :) I scanned both sides of the fob for everyone to see. I already have some ideas of what I'm going to do with the floss and the beads.

Then I got this hand made Card from Chiari. I just love ladybugs and it made me smile to see the little one you added onto the card.

And last but not least. Here is what I got from my DH today. 3 books and a DVD. Now all you HP fans don't freak out. ..that is not "THE" book 7 it's just a book that recaps all 7 books and gives some ideas of what might happen in book 7 (I think I"ll pass on that part. I"d like to be surprised). Also inside the card are tickets to see Stars on Ice.

A Good Day

Today was a good mail day. Now not ALL of this showed up in the mail but most of it did.
I ordered some fabrics and they arrived last Friday. They are 28 ct Lambswool, 28 ct Babbling Brook, 25 ct Angel Blush Lugana, 32 ct Antique White Lugana

The Antique White Lugana is for Blackstone Fantasy Garden by Ink Circles, the Lambswool and the Babbling Brook are for ornaments i want to stitch for the Christmas Ornaments SAL group. I have extra material for the ornaments so if anyone would like to trade some fabric with me let me know.

Then I ordered the New Years Eve Fairy from Downsunshine Lane and that showed up today.

Then I got 3 birthday gifts in the mail today. The big box is from Carol. I started to open it but, when I peeked in It didn't look like it was wrapped so I just left everything in the box. The card is from Chiara and the stripped package is from Michelle. Thank you all so much. Your gifts have gone into a basket I have along with Annemaries package and it's all waiting for Friday.

Registration for Celebration of Needlework started today. I'm looking forward to this year. I know that Mary, Carol, Jo and Margaret are planning on going this year. Anyone else planning on going this year?

Long Weekend

It was nice to have a nice 3 day weekend. Plus it doesn't hurt that I'm leaving work early no Thursday and have Friday off. Just hope the time I am in work this week goes quickly.

I did stitch this weekend but, it was a gift so I can't show it till get get receives. I can say I did have a lot of fun working on it.

Lots of Pink

I worked on Miss Valentine yesterday when I got home. I didn't get much done but, I still feel like I made some progress. It's just slow going with all that pink. I think once I get her skirt done. Things might start to pick up speed. I would have gone up towards her face but, I'm still not sure what to do with the heart she's holding. I'm not sure if I want to stitch the V that is on the candy box or not. I probably will but, I'm still tossing it back and forth.

Well the snow that most of the country got is sleet here. We did get a light dusting early last night but, that was about it. The snow is suppose to start up again later today but, only time will tell.

The new Mirabilia Fairy is out. She is Miss New Year's Eve.

I like her. She looks very spunky to me. :) I love her tiny wings I think they make her look very delicate.

I guess this means one of my 2 ideas of what would be the last 2 fairies is wrong. I'm still shooting for St. Patricks Day to be the last one. Time will tell if I'm right or not.

February Finish

Well so much for good intentions and finishing my L*K Flip-it last night. So I sat down first thing this morning and now she's done.

I think I'm going to work on Miss Valentine next. Then maybe towards the end of the month I'll do another L*K month. That is unless something else is calling to me. As long as I get the month I'm in done each month then anything else I can get done is a plus.

I got my first birthday gift in the mail yesterday. It's from AnneMarie. I'm being good and I've put it away till my birthday. I'm going to have a nice sit down and open everything at once. When I told DH that I"d gotten a gift and I'd put it away his comment to me was "well you should, it's not your birthday yet!" LOL so much for 'oh why wait honey..go ahead and open it now.' :)

The Bleeding Heart

I did a little work on my LK Flip-it yesterday. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked as I got another headache in the afternoon and I didn't do any stitching when I got home last night. So what you see below is just what I did at lunch yesterday. (Well the red in the heart. The outline on the heart I did the other day.)

Today's SBQ was suggested by Danielle and is: Have you ever been to a stitching retreat?

I have been. The past 2 years I've gone to Celebration of Needlework in NH. I'm sooo looking forward to going back again this year.

I've not made any plans yet for my birthday (2 weeks as of tomorrow). I think I may just stay home and take it easy, relax and hopefully stitch. I've talked with my DH and I think on the 24th we are going to go to the casino for the day. I've been stressing on little things lately and I'm just hoping this doesn't make me sick like it did a few years ago around my birthday. Just need to keep thinking happy thought. :)

A Non Stitching Day

I didn't get any stitching done yesterday. I got home and didn't feel to hot so I just layed on the couch and watched TV and read.

Yesterday was a very good stash day however.

I got fabric I ordered from 123-Stitch.com for a few ornaments I want to do for the Christmas Ornament SAL group. The fabrics are 28 ct Babbling Brook Jobelan, 28 CT Lambswool Jobelan. I also got Blackwork Fantasy Garden by Ink Circles from Down Sunshine Lane. I got on line late last night and ordered the floss for this. Now I just need to look and see if I have any fabric to stitch this on if not I'll need to order some of that too.

Thanks to all of you for your support on how I've been feeling lately. I'm having my good moments and my bad moments. At least I've not broken down crying lately which I find to be a very good thing. When I get to that point I know I'm in trouble. Only 17 days till my Birthday (the 23rd) I think I can make it.

February Projects

I worked on my Lizzie Kate Feb 07 Flip-It today. I didn't get as much done on it as I would have liked as I got caught up most of today reading the new James Patterson book Cross that I got for Christmas. I got almost 1/2 of it read today. I wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow so I could finish it.

I hope I can get the hart done quickly then move onto something else. So many things seem to be calling me right now I can't think of what to work on first/next.

I'm trying to be good lately and not get down/depressed. I always tend to get down around this time of the year. With Valentines Day coming up then my birthday I always seem to get sad. I think it's because I keep thinking of the things that I don't have that I want in my life. I try not to dwell on it. It's funny once my birthday gets here though I'm fine. I always take the day off work and either DH and I will go out if he can get the day off too or I'll have a ME day. Cause it's My day. :)

Miss Valentine

I spent most of the night working on Miss Valentine. I'd like to get her done before Valentines Day. For all the working on her I feel like I should have gotten more done.

I am enjoying working on her so much but, I've put her back down again for a few days so I can work on the L*K Feb 06 Flip-It since it's Feb first. I should have a picture of the L*K tonight.

A little house cleaning

I had to go out on Monday after work and yesterday we had a problem with the gas in the house so I spent all day here waiting for the gas man who didn't turn up till almost 7pm so I've gotten no stitching done the past 2 days and I really want to. Hopefully I'll have an update to show tonight. Since I don't have a WIP photo to show I thought I'd get some other stuff out of the way.

I joined the Christmas Ornament SAL group after seeing all of your finishes over the weekend. Can you tell me where your getting your fabrics? I know Silkweavers use to sell cut pieces that were the right sizes, colors etc for the pieces but, I heard from them and they didn't do it this year cause they had just recently moved. The girl told me that they have had a LOT of requests for them so while she's not sure right now if they will do the 2007 ones with all the requests the probably will. I really don't' want to have to buy a huge piece of fabric if I'm only going to need a piece of it and have the rest sit around probably never to be used. I wouldn't feel so bad about doing that if I could find more than 1 ornament that requires the same fabric.

I joined the PIF that Dawn is doing. So I"m looking for 5 people who would like to receive something hand made from me. Tagged by a few people to tell 6 weird things about myself:

1 - When I go to sleep at night the closet doors in the room have to be shut all the way. In fact If I know a door is open in another room I will go and close it. This all goes back to a Stephen King short story I read when I was younger.
2- When I go to bed at night I have to switch sides I'm laying on at last 2 times before I can go to sleep.
3 - I have (what I think are) really long toes.
4 - When I sit down to read I can't have any noise around me, like the tv or the radio, it has to be silent.
5 - Another when I go to bed at night. I'll set my alarm look at it and say to myself "ok it's set." then I'll have to check it again at least once to make sure it's on.
6 - Not sure if this is weird or not but, I don't tend to carry cash on me any more sine I can use my ATM card almost every where.

I'm not sure who else hasn't done this yet. If you've not consider yourself tagged.

The only place I've bought hand dyed fabrics from has been Silkweavers. I have recently gotten a few pieces from other companies from Carol. So far though Silkweavers is my favorite.

I just ended up getting the cold that is going around. I've felt ok just not the best and I have to go out all day today and tonight and I'd really rather just stay home. My stitching is calling to me. Along with 100 other things around the house. Oh well. I don't need to do anything tomorrow so I can stitch then.

We Salute you!

I'll explain the tittle to this post in a minute. I finished Britty Kitty today. I just love the colors in this piece. It was such a quick stitch (a week), it would have been done sooner if I hadn't had my headache on Wed/Thursday.

I'm not sure what I'm going to work on next. I tried to pick up a few things tonight while I watched the football but, the more the Pats lost the more depressed I got so I didn't feel like stitching. I know there is always next year but I didn't want the Colts to go to the Superbowl.

Ok now onto the title of my bog for today. Yesterday at 7:49am the city of New Haven imploded the New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum. So the tittle, taken from the AC/DC song is my tribute to the Coliseum and all the concerts I went to there. Most of the structure was already gone. The parking garage was built on the top of the building because the water table was to high to put it underground.

And a few pics as the smoke cleared. My camera froze up so I didn't get any shots of it coming down but MAN was it impressive. The whole thing from detonation to collaps took 17 seconds.

About 20,000 people turned up in the city to watch the implosion. I do have to say that it was pretty impressive!

Slow and Steady

I came home from work on Wednesday with a headache. I didn't get much stitching done on Wednesday night as I was trying to just take it easy. All I did was the read in the flowers on my Britter Kitty.

When I got up yesterday morning I still had my headache so a day home from work I had. Paul thinks I had a migraine because the light hurt my eyes but, I'm not sure....at least since I don't think I've never had one I had nothing to compare it to.
I didn't to much but sleep yesterday (till work called and woke me up :( ) but, I did get a little stitching in late last night when Paul caught up on the last 3 episodes of Prison Break. I'd already watched them. *grin* There is a lot of green grass in this piece so I'm hoping when I start stitching it tonight it will go quickly.

It's a Kitty

I didn't get much stitching done last night before 24 started but, I at least wanted to get the cat done before I put the piece down for the night.
Even though I've not gotten much done this piece seems to be moving a long quickly for me. I hope to have it done soon so I can move on to other things. This sounds so funny to hear me saying that I want to move onto something else and get as much as I can get done done after not stitching for so long.

Busy Weekend

Today was a busy day.....the whole weekend was kind of busy...with Football games yesterday and today. I got a lot of stitching done. I could have gotten more done but, I was a nervous wreck watching the Pats game today (and what a game it was!) so I had to put my stitching down.

Here is my second L*K 2006 flip-it done. I did May since it will be under January. Next will be February and I'm not sure. LOL I'm going to try and do at least 2 a month...So this will go away till Feb so I can work on other things.

Since I got the floss for the Brittercup Kitty yesterday I thought I'd work on it tonight. This is what I did durring the Pats game. Not much but, it's a good start. I should have this done by the end of the week. Not sure what I'll work on after that. Either the L*K houses or the napping Somebunnies.

I spent tonight watching the Premier of 24. I got DH to agree to at least watch the first 2 hours. He watched the show when it first started but, he's not watched it recently. I hope I've gotten him back into it.

I spent most of today watching the football games and doing some stitching. This is my progress so far on L*K May.

I would have ahd it finished tonight but the yellow I need to fill in "May" and to do the last bird wasn't in the bag with the project. I know I have it so I'll just have to look for it in the morning.

Today was a pretty good mail day. I bought a piece of fabric from Carol a week or so ago and it turned up today. It must have taken the slow boat to get here Carol as it was postmarked the 3rd.

The fabric is a 28 count Lugana by Sugar Maple Fabrics called Peach Berry Cobbler. I also ordered from Down Sunshine Lane the WDW flosses I'll need to do the Brittercup Designs pattern that is in the new issue of the UK Cross Stitcher. I might start that one tomorrow once I finish May.
