SBQ - November 8, 2006

Today's SBQ was suggested by Jan(http://www.alpineme adow.com/ stitchery/ weblog/index. html) and is:

How many different brands of "complete" embroidery floss sets do youown? How do you keep track of it? (i.e., spread sheet program, indexcards, palm pilot, etc.)

The only floss set that I have complete is Seaside Treasures. On all the others I only have what I've bought for pieces that I've worked on so far. For Weeks, GATS, and Anchor I have Excel spread sheets that have all the colors and I check off the colors I have on the list (I learned this leason after I ended up with 4 skeins of Oatmeal in either Weeks or GATS LOL) for DMC I bought a set of numbered stickers at Michaels and put one on every bobbin I had so I can just look at the page of stickers and if a number is still there I don't have it.

Now this doesn't help the fact that when I first started doing cross stitch where I had to buy my own floss (not kits) I ended up with A LOT of the same colors. I need to find a way to keep track of all my doubles and I've not figured this out yet.

I haven't done much stitching lately but, I have been working on Miss Valentine. Not much to show - she just looks like a pink blob at the moment. Hopefully I'll have enough done to show you all soon.

Well we thought that we would be moving in 6 days but, we got a call on Tuesday and the girl who's buying our condo can't get out of where she's living (or something like that) till the 22nd so the closing as been changed to the 22nd. For those of you now in the US that is the day before Thanksgiving for us. It wouldn't be so bad if I had not already invited people to our new home for Thanksgiving dinner. So that week I'll not only have to pack up this house, close, move in and start to unpack I'll need to get all the food I'll need for Thanksgiving Dinner. I can just see me at the store the night of the 22nd buying everything I need. Oh yeah and I have to hope that the closing is early enough in the day that I'll be able to meet the cable guy at the new house between 2 - 5 on the 22nd to get the cable turned on - cause for you football fans you know you can't have Thanksgiving with out football. :)

You can move into your new home before your closing on your old, can't you? We did... The African Daisy is yours - I don't trust email from work, so if you don't get that one, you will at least get this one :-) You know the drill, $13 - thanks sweetie!

Yikes, sounds like a stressful Thanksgiving. Moving stinks, no matter what time of year you do it--but around the holidays its much more stressful! Take it easy and do only what you can. Warn everybody ahead of time that they might have to step over a few boxes. ; )

Maybe you can do a pot luck dinner?
Oh well everyone would understood it can't be perfect this time, won't they?
:o)
Don't worry to much about it, just take it as it comes.

Oh my! Moving is never fun, but moving during holidays is no fun at all. Everyone should definitely understand if dinner isn't perfect this year.

Wow!! You better put on some roller skates, my friend! You are going to be hopping.

I am looking forward to progress pics of Miss Val.

I have your book bundled up and it will go out on Monday (forgot post office was closed today for holiday).

:)

I don't envy you, Jenn. Don't worry too much, though, you'll do fine! Think of the thrill of living in your new home, and all of the stress should be forgotten (yeah right, An)!
